A Gross Morn In Gros Morne Is Still Great

A rainy start to the day but we followed the old Newfoundland saying "if you don't like the weather, wait a few minutes". During the 3 hour, 10km hike at Bakers Brook Falls, we had our raincoats on maybe 15 minutes. This on a day when the forecast was calling for an all-day rain.

We had the trail to ourselves and really expected to see a moose or two given the scat and hoof tracks on the path.

But we didn't. We did see a beautiful 3 level waterfall, though.  Like all views here, photos won't do it justice but...

A few plants along the route

And a wee snack.

Here's a striking example of how destructive the moose are.  The park built this 100 square metre enclosure to keep the moose out.  Note how lush and tall the vegetation is when protected compared with the plants outside.
